Speaking Unplugged Language in Year 2

The number 9 required using left, right and backward commands.
The students in Mrs Clamback's class learned to develop their computational thinking skills by writing instructions to help a robot learn to write numbers correctly. Once the class had reviewed the language that the robot speaks they then began to create instructions for it using command cards written in the robot's language. Students discovered that the start point was important for writing the instructions correctly and that the 'L' strategy was very helpful for writing correct instructions also. Next, the students will use the photos they took of their instructions to programme a real robot.
